Job Description

Are you the type of person that enjoys a hybrid role between the office and being on site every so often for a change of scenery?

If so, a company that I’m working with are currently on the lookout for an experienced EC&I Engineer to lead a new project that they’ve landed with the Ministry of Defence.

The role is a permanent role but for the first two years you’ll be taking lead for a relocation project, basically they’re moving all the kit from two sites down South to a new site in Scotland so you’ll be expected to go to site to carry out surveys, assess the new site and then return back to the office to sketch up some Electrical drawings for the new wiring diagrams/cable layouts along with the bill of materials and then assist on the installation stages through to hand over.

For what it’s worth, the majority of your time will be spent in the office and when you’d be required on site you’d travel down on a Monday and return home on the Friday, so you’d always be back in your own bed over the weekend. Also, they’ll provide a company car for when you’re travelling, accommodation and you’ll also receive a meal allowance.

The company itself are big when it comes to company culture and the MD regularly plans social days, they offer flexi time, and you can also work one day a week from the comfort of your own home.

Progression wise, they’d be happy to set up a path that suits you, they wouldn’t be against setting out a clear path to a management role, a projects-based role or if you wanted to stay on the tools all together, they’d be happy to support that too.

You’d be working a 36-hour week and would be coming out with between £40-45k, and the company are based in Manchester.

If this sounds like it could be worth a bit of a longer conversation, please feel free to pop me a call on 0161 250 5325 or an email eloisa@optima-cs.com
