Industrial Installation Electrician | Heywood | £42,000 + Overtime

Are you an experienced industrial electrician who enjoys working with control panels, machinery and

electrical systems, rather than carrying out the same installations day in, day out?

 

If so, this is an opportunity to work on a variety of industrial engineering projects with Baldwin

Technical Services, installing and wiring electrical control systems and machinery at customer sites

across the UK and occasionally overseas.

 

What you’ll be doing

You'll be working on a variety of industrial engineering projects, installing and wiring machinery,

control panels and electrical systems for customers across the UK and occasionally overseas.

Rather than being limited to one part of an installation, you'll be involved in bringing complete

systems together, from the initial electrical installation through to testing and commissioning

support.

 

Your work will include:

• Installing and wiring industrial machinery, electrical control panels and associated

equipment.

• Working from electrical drawings and schematics to connect power, controls, motors,

sensors and other field devices.

• Carrying out electrical testing, fault finding and supporting commissioning engineers to get

systems up and running.

• Working alongside mechanical and electrical engineers to deliver installations at customer

sites.

It's a role that offers variety in both the equipment you're working on and the projects you're

involved in, with the opportunity to see installations through to completion.

 

What you'll need

• City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Engineering/Installation (or equivalent), AM2/AM2S and

18th Edition Wiring Regulations.

• Hands-on experience with industrial electrical installations, particularly machinery and

control systems.

• Experience wiring electrical control panels from schematics and electrical drawings.

• Confidence installing cable containment, terminating cables and connecting industrial

equipment.

• Strong electrical fault-finding skills and a methodical approach to testing.

• A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sites.

• Inspection & Testing (2391), ECS Gold Card, CompEx or relevant site safety qualifications

would be advantageous.

• Experience within food manufacturing, material handling or machine safety systems would

also be beneficial.

 

Salary & package

• £42,000 per annum following a successful 3-month trial period.

• Overtime available, including enhanced rates.

• 40-hour working week.

• Overnight stay allowance and company van when working on-site.
