Job Description

Ever feel like quality assurance is the unsung hero of the workplace?

If you're nodding along, then this Quality Manager role might just be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for. A company deeply committed to quality management is searching for someone who can expertly tackle BRCGS compliance and ensure product safety.

You’ll step into the pivotal role of safeguarding operational procedures, ensuring everything runs as it should and diving into the internal audit process—yes, that means verifying that everyone is actually following the protocols and not just going through the motions. You'll be responsible for training and mentoring staff on HACCP and managing quality documentation. You’ll be the sole quality person for a period of time, so you’d need to be comfortable becoming the go-to resource.

As part of your daily responsibilities, you'll scrutinise manufacturing processes to ensure no one is cutting corners on cleanliness. You'll also be handing out quality procedures like they’re important instructions—keeping them relevant and accessible. Monitoring quality records for Critical Control Points? That’s just another Monday for you. Plus, you’ll be resolving discrepancies to ensure that every production line is operating within the necessary quality standards—because, let's face it, those standards are there to be upheld.

This isn’t just about ticking boxes; the organisation genuinely prioritises upholding industry standards. You’ll even get to liaise with R&D on new product developments—because who doesn’t relish a bit of innovation in a day’s work?

You’ll need a decent understanding of BRCGS and HACCP principles given the products they manufacture, and you’ll also have the opportunity to build out a quality team underneath you, so experience of mentoring and leading a team will be needed as well.

You’ll be at the site in Manchester and salary is likely to fall around £40k+ initially, though I’d imagine that increasing as the business grows.
