Job Description

Are you the type of person that enjoys acting as the ‘go to’ person when it comes to complex issues?

If you’re not, then there’s probably no point wasting your time reading the rest…

The company I’m working with are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join the team and act as a ‘specialist’ on their kit.

It’ll be a mix between 60% plan preventative and 40% reactive working on highly complex machinery that are bigger than most people’s house but have the ability to have a 6-meter bed calibrated to 10 microns.

If you’ve worked with CNC/milling machines in the past, then you’re probably in the right spot as they’re looking for someone with a good understanding and work ethic to come in so they can train you in everything there is to know regarding 5 axis CNC machines. It’s worth mentioning that you’ll be part of a tight-knit team, so you’ll always have someone with you to bounce ideas back and forth with to support you getting to the bottom of difficult breakdowns.

You’ll be based on the BAE site in Samlesbury working Monday to Friday day shifts, so you’ll need to be able to get security clearance to be considered.

The salary is a bit of a weird one, but I’ll do my best to explain it.  Your basic will probably be somewhere around the £40k mark, but there’s an expectation that you’ll do a few hours of overtime every week as standard.

That means you’ll be doing 45 hours a week, but actually taking home between £50k and £52k every year by doing those hours.  There’s more overtime available at the weekend as well, for what it’s worth, but whether or not you do that is completely your choice.

If you think it could be worth exploring further, then give me a shout and I’ll be happy to answer any questions that you might have- 0161 250 5326.
