As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer for this business based in Preston, you’d have no question about the security of your job. They have a massive contract with and are the chosen suppliers for BAE and we all know they’re not going anywhere.

You’ll be working with large 5 axis milling machines and tools as you fault find and diagnose issues using Siemens S840D. Not to mention the equipment itself is up there with the most cutting edge machinery you’ll find worldwide; if you imagine a pyramid of quality and precision, they’re sitting right at the top.

Ideally, you’ll have done something similar in your previous roles or if not, you’ll have experience of electrical maintenance with Siemens 840D and CNC Milling experience separately with the ability to combine your skills. You’ll be part of a team of 8 site based Engineers on a day shift – great for if you wanna be home at a certain time every day.

If you’ve ever thought or said to yourself something along the lines of ‘that’s not in my job description so I’m not doing it’ then this probably isn’t the role for you as you’ll be expected to focus on the electrical faults mainly but it’s not to say that you won’t have to get your hands dirty from time to time and chip in to help the others; it’s a proper team environment.

Being honest, it’s quite flat structured so you’re not going to find yourself racing to the top of the ladder in 2 years, so if that’s what you’re after then this isn’t for you, but what you can’t get in vertical progression, they can offer training to really broaden your knowledge beyond a point you can probably imagine. Salary wise you’re looking at a basic of around a £40k with guaranteed overtime every week which takes you closer to £50k (and extra overtime if you want it), they have a decent benefits package, loads of training and you’d be based at the site in Preston.
